Battery or electrical issue?

Asked by ramstaa Jan 02, 2016 at 05:10 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive a 2004 chevy malibu. My car will start when I jump it but then won't
start even after I let it run for awhile. The engine clicks and my trunk pops
open. Curious if this is a batter issue or an electrical issue? Radio and lights do
work.

It could be the battery or the alternator not charging. I would have them both tested. Get the car started and take it somewhere to be checked, it can be done with the battery & alternator still in the car.
