Car no power

Asked by Doctor57 Sep 30, 2017 at 09:49 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 cavalier 2.2
Dashlights dimly lit with no dome light on when
door is opened. When key is inserted and turn to
the on position everything goes dead wont even
turn over. Left it alone for 15min. Tried again and
everything worked normally til I turned the car off.
Checked battery and battery cables and there
good.
I'm thinking maybe something electrical like a fuse
or ignition switch maybe a bad ground wire
Please help

Did you say battery was good? How about load testing the battery? Are you sure your battery isn't regenerating while you wait to start it? Sounds battery related.

Pretty obvious your car is draining electric .. Have your alternator checked ,thats usually the reason ..

I'm having the same issue I have brand new battery and I think it's a ignition switch ground problem because I pulled the ignition out last night I'll show you what it looks like but I can't figure out why I have two rows of dead fuses not dead just showing no voltage
