I have a 2002 Tundra 2wd that has a much heavier gauge body steel than my 2009 Tundra 4wd. What was the last year of the heavier gauge metal in the Tundra?

That would be hard to find out. I would look up the truck weights for each year and see if there is a point where they drop one or two hundred pounds.
