Poor Idle after fan clutch replacement

Asked by RickyH_1 Jun 08, 2019 at 04:27 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We replaced the fan clutch on a 05 Trailblazer,
4.2ltr. Now it won't hardly idle with the ac on. It
runs at 600 rpm, engages and disengages the ac
compressor, and the rpms drop to almost 300
rpms, and even stalling g the engine. It cycles up
and down with the ac clutch actions.

Ricky, piece of cake, this is about a $9 fix. Disconnect fuses # 10 and #28, remove your throttle body, and clean it with a sensor safe spray like Seafoam. With HVAC off, drive around for a while for the computer to relearn the cleaned TB. Very common problem after battery was disconnected.
