They are probably some of the best trucks around. I have a 98 Tacoma SR5 V6 4x4 auto. They feel like little go karts (in a good way). They get around nicely. Solidly built and reliable. Even better if you find one with a TRD package since you get the e-locker with it. Probably the best option to go with. There's really no common problems other than just maintenance stuff. Takes me anywhere I want to go, on and off road.

I agree, maintenance is key. Timing belt is something to check if its running poor. Other than that they are great trucks!.
