2005 Suburban won't stay charged

Asked by JulieDyke Jan 16, 2019 at 11:51 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Z71 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We bought the 2005 Suburban in May 2018. I had a
brand new battery (receipt was provided).  Since
then it has proven unreliable to start.  We've had it
jumped started half a dozen times, charged
overnight twice and once for two full days. We've
checked the alternator.  We ensure EVERYTHING in
in the off position including the compass light on
the rear view mirror when turning off the car. The
next suggestion is to remoge the battery from the
car, charge it fully and monitor the charge to
isolate the problem as to whether it's the battery or
something else in the truck. Has anyone else
experienced anything similar? Does anyone have
another idea to try?
