What fuse or wires turn carry electrical current at night when the gauge lights turn on?

Asked by dminah_21 Jun 02, 2016 at 04:39 PM about the 2000 Toyota Sienna XLE

Question type: Car Customization

I know that daytime running lights will always be on when you have it on
auto, however I want some interior LEDs to turn on at night when the
gauge lights turn on. Is the tail light fuse a good fuse to use to carry a 12V
current to the LEDs (24. 10A Tail Light) ? Or a Stop Light fuse (23. 15A
Stop)? Maybe I can use a meter illumination wire or use the negative
dimmer wire from the dimmer wheel at the left of the steering wheel. I just
want the LEDs to turn on with the gauges when the van detects the
darkness outside at night (or in a garage or parking lot).

Don't use your brake light or stop light fuses in a chance they blow an you have no tail lights...I would just run a lead from the battery to a 20 amp toggle with a 10 amp in line fuse. An do it manually. Its illeagel to drive with intear lights on in most places

They are LEDs at the foot well. Also the circuit would run before the fuse so I don't blow the fuse (if I ever used it)
