The heater blows hot air only after running for 1 mile.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Impala's heater does not start blowing hot air when the car is turned on,
instead it blows hot air only after it has run a mile. Please suggest what needs
to be done.

That's pretty good heating I think. At -5F here in Montana, I'm happy if the heater works in 3 or 4 miles.
