sluggish getting away from stoplights, straining shifting gears, no horsepower or
transmission problem?

If it's running hot and or boiling over when you shut off the engine too, those are all symptoms of a worn timing chain or timing belt. Hope that helps! Jim

Thanks, no problem with overheating, just a lot of strain getting up to speed.
