Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox and I'm trying to
remove the driver side CV axle half shaft and I can't
get it out. On top of that it has come loose at the
boot going into the tranny. How do I remove the
axle on the driver side?

I used a smaller crowbar and placed the end on a groove on the old shaft and from under the opposite side of the car I hammered the head out of the transmission. I did this on both sides to evenly work it out. I had to hit it about 4 times. You can also pry it once you have a groove to put it into. Be careful up against soft aluminum. I used a couple balled up socks to help not mar or dent up trans.
