Will not reverse

My automatic 91 toyota passeo dwill
not go in reverse but it seems to be
catching from the cullum pulley and
from the shifters what else could it be

WTF ? Try the trans fluid level. After that, safely support it get under it and shift the manual lever by hand into reverse, does it engage reverse while a helper holds the brake with the engine running? I do not have to explain jack stands, wheel chocks and safety do I ? Now while you're down there....what do you see ? does it leak, was it low, was it bent, was it broken ?
