Value of car at 188K?

Asked by GuruJWKDB Jul 26, 2020 at 01:00 PM about the 2005 Toyota Highlander Base V6

Question type: Car Customization

My 2005 Highlander has 188K but has been great. It needs new timing belt,
190K big service and within 6 months new front struts. All told about $2500.
But I read that these can last into the 200K...thoughts on buying a used vehicle
or fixing this one. We only drive about 10K a year.

Only you know the condition of your car. If it has been well maintained you might get several more years out of it. If the timing belt needs replacing you don't want to put that off. I don't know what a "big service" is but if these are dealer prices you really should find a good independent shop.
