can I put 225/70 /17 on my 04 highlander, I cannot get the 225/65/17 in the tire I want

Assuming the tires have the correct load rating and you have the clearance for the additional tire diameter they should work. However it may slightly throw off your speedometer reading.

Don't do it, unless its an emergency. Wait for the correct tire size. T-K
