this happened once before and then was fine an hour later. yesterday i was driving and everything was fine then all of a sudden it started sputtering and hesitating,shaking like it was gonna stall out ......i only had a 1/4 mile to go so i kept it going and got home. this morning it is fine but i am afraid to drive it. any ideas because my mechanic says if its not doing what i said when i bring it in that its hard to make a diagnosis.........thanks

have ur timing belt checked.also put some lucas in it and also seafoam it cleans the motor

My 2003 Toyota Corolla with 175,000 miles was showing the check engine light. My friend ran a check and the code P0770 came up, which is Shift Solenoid 'E' Malfunction. When I'm on the freeway, I do notice my car is slow on accelerating, but my MPG is fine. How much would it cost to get this fix? Also, would I fail the California SMOG check?
