94 Corolla only drives backward in reverse but wont move in any other gear

Why is my 94 Corolla not moving forward in any
drive gear? It only goes backward in reverse. Has
transmission fluid but it smells burnt.

Thats what i was affraid of. Not really attached. Just really broke as i am a disabled veteran on a fixed income. Thank you for your answer anyway which confirmed my prediction.
