Question type: Maintenance & Repair

it died on me at a red light as soon as i stopped. When i tried to crank it it wouldturnover so its not the battery but my light on my battery is on. i am also having problems with my idling at times it will idle uo to 2000 rpms and then down to 800 rpms. well i waited until i got home from work the next day and tried to crank it and it crunk up just fine. my theory was maybe my idling was what happened with it at the red light. that when i went from going 90mph to 0mph that my idling went to low so it didnt allow the car to stay running. but i dont know why it wouldnt crank that night and then it did the next day just fine, PLEASE HELP
