2001 Toyota Celica turns over but has a delayed start. Takes 5--7 seconds when it usually fires right up.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning it fired fine. Then it started taking a while to fire. It turns over fine and all lights light up. Car runs fine
on the highway, no noticeable lag or stutter. What is going on? Fuel pump?

I just had the same issue with my 2001 Celica. I fixed the problem by changing out the Air Filter and Spark Plugs. That solved my problem. I also read, that it could be the O2 sensor. To me, it sounds like it might be the spark plugs you need to replace.
