Why are don't Celicas hold their value?

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

Hi I have an automatic 1997 GS Celica in excellent condition in NZ.  GS is
written on hatchback, has lights down inside of doors and is a 2.2Lt.  Here in NZ
Auto dealers say Celicas are worthless - Why???? I love my car, but need a ute
as I now have farm block. My car is NZ new, has had 2 lady owners and the
paintwork - silver, looks like new. It has done 144,000km without missing a beat
and when I bought it, it was sold to me as a Signature car from Toyota Dealer.

Your car is 22 years old. No dealer wants a car that old as a trade in no matter what it is. To a dealer it is a $500 car. Sell it yourself if you want more money.
