1995 Celica won't start some times, other times it starts just fine

The car will start fine 9 times out of 10. Then, stop at a store, go out the
next day, and it won't start. Usually, if you wait a couple minutes, then try
again, it starts right up. I was told it was the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel
pump, car started right up. I put the back seat back together, went to start it
up to move the car to my garage, wouldn't start. Came out an hour later, it
started up first try. Any ideas?

Well mine starts 1 out of 10 times but when it does start it just fires right up no hesitation

I have owned 1 88 Celica and 2 89 Celicas. They all had the same problem. I replaced the starter and selenoid, replaced connectors back to the ignition switch and the ignition switch itself. Still had the problem. I solved problem by installing a momentary switch next to the ignition switch on the dashboard with a wire running from the battery(with a fuse) to the switch and from switch to the starter selenoid. Press it at same as you turn the key. Works every time even on the hottest days.
