it is possible..the mounts are the same and the tranny will bolt up but if i were you id find a 3sgte motor due to the fact that it is the motory built for the car, it puts out more power and it is a better built motor

I really want to use the engine/tranny from my wrecked GT since its only got 90K miles on it. I have the chance to buy a 91 turbo without an engine, that way I can do the swap if possible, but thnx for the advice.

I found a 2001 Toyota gt engine 1.8L with only 110,000 miles on it, I was wondering what other chassis would be compatible to this engine.

I have a engine from 1990 Toyota Corolla DX 1.6l it will fit 1997 Toyota Tercel 1.5l or no ?
