Remote Keyless Entry Receiver Location

Asked by Brian Mar 15, 2020 at 11:04 AM about the 2006 Toyota Camry Solara SLE Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My remote keyless entry system will not work.  Initially (~2 years ago) it was an
intermittent issue, but now it will not work at all.  I have replaced the batteries in
both key FOBs, and I have reprogrammed the FOBs to the car several times.
Reprogramming helped the issue for a short time when I did it a year or so ago, but
now it doesn't help at all.

The next step in my opinion is to replace the RKE receiver in the car, however I do
not know it's location.

Am I on the right track and where would the RKE receiver be located in a 2006
Toyota Solara Convertible?

Thanks..

It is behind the dash under to the left of the Steering wheel most times but it will be behind the dash
