05 camry loss of acceleration

While doing 60 down road felt gas pedal get
heavy under my foot noticed car stopped
maintaining 60 and began to decelerate.
Took foot off gas to about 40mph and then
started accelearting like normal. No loss of
electric no check engine lights. Happened 3
times today on my way to work. once from a
stand still. Where I again lwt off the gas
waited a sec and resumed my drive any
suggeations? Is it still safe to get me home
today?

What Engine in this vehicle? Mileage? I would be inclined to have this vehicle checked out with a Scan Tool. Although there appears to be no warning lights on or flashing...there may be codes "pending"...and waiting for a repeat of events that would then set a code and turn the CEL on. I would then road test the vehicle with Scan Tool in place to capture data should the event reappear. This could also be a fuel delivery issue...namely a Fuel Pump going bad. A fuel pressure test would also be in order.
