Sounds like a slipping transmission it could be caused by a pump or another trans related issue but either way you need to get to the transmission shop, not the dealer but a local transmission only shop that works on Toyota, Some will say take it to the dealer, IF you know of a local trans man I would try it out first in case it is a sensor or pump and does not need a new one which the dealer will push on you as a first recourse.

The trans has its own code reading done from the actual trans and does not send error codes to the main computer to turn on a check engine light to be seen on the dash as the engine does. It has to be read by a scanner designed to read trans codes.
