2004 Camry - fuse for right tow light

Asked by Guru1DT6N Aug 20, 2019 at 11:29 AM about the 2004 Toyota Camry LE FWD

Question type: General

I have a 2004 Camry and, after re-wiring my utility trailer, the right side lights still do not work. Someone mentioned that it might be a fuse, but I can't figure out which one. Does anyone know which fuse controls the right tow lights?

Thank you very much.

both right and left brake lights of the trailer work off the same circuit so it isn't a fuse. sounds like a poor ground to the right side light on the trailer, bad bulb or shorted light socket. Test the the socket from the vehicle with a 12Volt test light to make sure power is coming from the vehicle connection the pig tail plug on the trailer. Depending on your connection could have 4 or 5 wires. The white wire is usually the ground wire. With the test light connected to a positive source of the vehicle touch the probe end of the test light to the wire and the light should lite up. if so this is a good ground. next clip the test light to the known good ground white wire. Touch the test light probe to each wire while turning on the running lights and see which one is the running light wire. Then turn on left blinker and find that one, then the right blinker to find that one and last press the brake pedal to locate the one. mark them all or write down what color wire controls each. The brake light and turn signal can be the same wire. The brown is the running light in most cases and operates both lights on the trailer providing there is a good ground on the trailer light itself. The yellow wire is the left blinker and yours is working so you have a good ground on the left trailer light and good bulb and no faulty left trailer light socket. The green wire is the right blinker and as yours isn't working on the trailer it is more than likely the same as the running light and brake light to the right trailer light. Check the right side trailer light bulb to make sure the filament inside isn't broken. Check the bulb socket for corrosion. If these two are fine then check the trailer light ground. disconnect the ground to the light on the trailer ( a black wire usually ) and clean the connection and the ground point with sand paper. Reconnect it This should fix the problem. if it does check this as helpful. If not let me know by replying to the question.
