Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE i bought 6 months ago. It car starts and
can move very slowly when put into gear but it will not accelerate. we
checked the fuses, restarted the battery, checked the transmission, and
checked the oils and gas, but still nothing. Everything about the car works
fine except that one thing. it has the check engine light, vsc light, and the
Trac Off Light on. how do i fix this?

The check engine light you can get scanned and read letting you know what the problem is at parts stores like auto zone for free.

Sounds to me like this vehicle is in the "Fail Safe Mode". Many modern cars today will do this when the Battery is disconnected...or....a critical sensor or computer controlled device has failed. I agree with firebird....a Scan Tool is needed to read codes. Trouble is...how do you get this vehicle to the repair shop...or...parts store to have the codes read? Sometimes...a Manual Reset can be performed by the vehicle owner. Check the Owner's manual ....it might be included. Also...try Googling your make Model year and include the words RESET...FAIL SAFE. Get back to us with result.

yea. i did. there was nothing wrong with the engine. i went and got my car scanned and it said the sensor for the gas pedal was not responding(located right above the gas pedal). so we checked ourselves and it turned out that the sensor for the gas pedal was loose so we unplugged it and replugged it back in. it took a very short amount of time for it to work. but i used electrical tape just in case. i was glad it wasnt too serious cause i didnt have the money to fix it at the shops.

Good job. If the problem returns...rescan and be sure to wright down the Codes so we can once again assist you. Good luck.
