Sunroof stuck in the opening position

My sunroof is stuck in the opening
position. It will not go back down or
any further open. Sounds like it is
stuck and if the button is pressed the
gears grind. Is there an emergency
release to it, or does the whole top
interior need to be taken out to get it
closed or repaired?

You will have to bring it to the shop for repairs. I have read other forums on this issue, and the plastic gears have most likely broken. The entire head liner has to be removed in order to fix.
