2002 camry center console
What is the procedure to remove enough of the center console to get to the lighter assembly to replace it. I don't see any screws, does the plastic trim in the area of the ash tray just snap off, I don't want to break it off! Than you in advance

Im not sure how it comes apart, but from previous vehicles ive owned it just starts with mild pressure and common sense on how parts seem to be attached, however when you start taking these things apart they never really go back together the same (rattles etc).

I have an '02 XLE and inside the arm rest (larger compartment) underneath the carpet area and Outlet are 2 bolts. Unscrew those, then put your 2 front seats all the way forward and where the console meets the carpet, should be about 4 screws. After, make sure your large compartment is open and do some wiggling and it should come out. From there, 2 screws are near the gear box and it all should come out with some force.
