Battery light is on. replaced battery and alternator. engine starts, but when i pull
one of the battery cables off the battery, then engine dies. I have checked all
the grounds and they are clean and good connection. any answers....

Bad idea removing battery terminal from battery with vehicle running can short out computer you could do that back in the day with vehicles to check alternator.
I have the same problem but could it be the Battery fuse
