Before you spend a ton of money at the shop try this first. Go to Autozone and ask for replacement relay #35874. Open your fuse box under the hood and look under the fuse cover for the diagram. Where it says MGCLT, pull out that one and put in the new one from Autozone. See if that fixes your problem. I have a 99 Camry with the same problem. I swapped out the relay and problem solved.

Another solution. I went into Auto Zone with the AC blinking light problem. Clinton (not the President) checked the pressure on the system. It was not charged with freon but was under too much pressure. About 80 lbs worth. So, the light will stay on if it is under pressure or over pressure. It should be about 40 to 50 lbs. when charged.

Would the relay also be the issue if the light is out altogether? We added only the needed Freon yesterday it was brighter, today it’s out again.

Hello, I had the same problem with the blinking light. I fixed it, accidentally, when I got my car smogged . Can anyone explain what was wrong that getting the car smogged would fix? Background. My mechanic initially fixed it, but I didn’t ask what was wrong. It’s a 2002 Camry. I figured it needed freeon or something. Three weeks later, the light started flashing again. No AC. Before I could take it back to my mechanic, I had to renew my vehicle registration but first getting it smogged. As I had the fan blowing, the AC came on as I drove from the place. Anyone have a clue? Thanks.
