Oil Leak

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had the car repaired - once in November (valve gaskets replaced) and last
week (O ring gasket, timing belt, water pump), and am beginning to see oil leak
onto cardboard I placed under my car to make sure they had repaired it right.
Why would it still be leaking oil?

Valve cover gasket? Look and see where the oil is coming from.

This is what was replaced on Jan. 5th - front crankshaft seal and crankshaft oil seal, timing belt, and water pump. The reasoning was since they had to move the timing belt (and I had 30,000 miles left before getting a new one) that they would replace that and the water pump. But oil was pouring out from the crankshaft O ring seal. They said that was the problem.

I would take it back to the guy who did the work. Without knowing where the leak is coming from I can't help.

What Engine in this vehicle? 4 cylinder...or 6 cylinder?

You might want to remind your repair person to check the POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION SYSTEM for defects. When this system is congested...brand new seals and gaskets will leak oil due to pressure build up in the engine crankcase. Good luck...and...let us know what the ultimate fix is for this vehicle.
