OK....Sounds like the Shift Interlock System is faulty. Since your Gauges are not functioning...check the gauges FUSE. This fuse is in the SIS circuit. Also...the CIG. and STOP LIGHT Fuses are also in this circuit. Do your stop lights work? Does your Cig Lighter work?

no the cig lighter isn't working I have no a.c., no brake lights, no blinkers, no radio,

Since you have several system failures....have you had any recent repairs performed on this vehicle? Can you check fuses on this vehicle?

Based on the history of this vehicle I would suggest a return to the repair shop involved with that recent repair. The diagnosis would start with a check of fuses cited above. Keep us updated concerning this interesting issue.

Ok. Sounds like that loose wire was a result of the recent repair. Thanks for the update. We have sell learned from your experience.

My 99 Camry is experiencing same issues. I recently got a new alternator after replacing ignition switch.
