How difficult is it to replace a door handle on a '98 Camry?

gotta take off the interior door panel off most every car has a screw behind the interior door handle and two in the center of the door and for some cars a couple on the bottom

Not really, no...pretty common problem, especially for the outer door handles to break. Most likely, you will have to take the door apart with it opened and the window rolled fully up so it's out of your way. Then you can access everything from inside and remove the handle from the out-side. Keep a small magnet handy cause you WILL drop something down in the door, and I've even put some duct-tape or a small magnet taped inside of a socket so it will hold onto any nuts or bolts you remove and snake out of the door.
