Camry mcv20r wont continue to run

Asked by Austinjae Jan 04, 2017 at 06:39 AM about the 1998 Toyota Camry CE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had water pump replaced, timing belt changed,
tapper covers resealed, week later just stopped
while driving. Towed home. Replaced fuel pump,
igniter, ecm, spark plugs, fuel filter, o2 sensors,
checked all wiring. It gave symptoms of a fuel
problem. It starts runs for a couple seconds then
stops. Play with throttle and get running at bout
1000rpm no acceleration and no idle. No fault
codes present.
Disconnected exhaust system thinking blocked no
difference.
Haven't touched immobilizer.
Not sure what eles can tell you.
Tried everything we know.
If battery is bad could this cause a problem?

Does this vehicle have an EGR Valve? Might not be closing all the way. What's the mileage?

Bad Battery...not likely. If you have a Digital Volt Meter....you should see 12.6 volts DC across the bat. Engine not running. 13.5 to 14 volts when the engine is running. Follow the Vacuum Diagram Label located under the hood. Make sure all is well with the Vac. Lines on this vehicle. Pay particular attention to the hose going to the MAP Sensor. Is it soft and mushy?
