97 camry wont go into any gear evan park

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was driving down rd all a sudden my 97 camry
kicked in to neutral and hasnt gone in to gear
again. I checked cable thought it was a axle
changed that drained transmission changed filter
and still nothing. Is my transmission shot?

"I checked the cable"....does that mean the Tranny Cable is in place and operational? What Engine? Did the Tranny Fluid look and smell OK? I believe there is a separate Computer (TCM)...which controls this Tranny. A Scan Tool would be able to scan for codes. Will she go into PARK and lock the drive train as it supposed to?

Car starts, won't go into gear, checked cable, it seems to be in tact, won't go into any gears, doesn't shift. What's goin on? Please help!
