inside door handle, connecting rod mechanizm wont open door.

Asked by Jim Aug 06, 2016 at 06:36 PM about the 1997 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

connecting rod from inside door latch slips in connecting bracket for door latch, consequently the latch does not operate and door wont open. Is there a plastic piece missing, or one I could add to fix the problem?

I assume you have the inside door panel removed. reach down inside the door and carefully feel for the missing "gadget" that should be holding things together. A picture of the area in question would help with the diagnosis.
