1996 camry replaced the battery & wont start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the battery, momentarily crossed the cables blew a fuse, corrected the cable placement and replaced the fuse. the headlights, door chime, emergency flashers all work, nothing else comes on and car will not turn over, I can feel the relay click

Check wire going to starter most of the time that is where the fusible link.

thanks for the in-put, I have not looked at the link yet but does the ignition switch come in after the link? it appears as though everything from the switch is dead

When things like making a mistake putting the battery in wrong is the reason they put in fuses so that it will not burn out a main part. Google this Put battery in wrong on the year , make and model of your vehicle and it will take you to some sites that will show you the fuse that needs to replace when battery has been installed wrong.
