1995 toyote camery no power to distributor why/
my Toyota has power to igniter but no spark and no power to distributor, I checked timing belt and am2 fuse all is good/ is there another fuse I need to check?
The igniter may be bad.
The igniter is also known as a Ignition Control Module.
Under hood driver side there should be Diagnostic Connector #1. With a 12 volt test light.....gently probe the IG- terminal. Key ON...Engine OFF...the TL should be ON. Have someone crank the engine .....the TL should BLINK . Get back with results.
If you have power to your ignitor but no power to your coil then your igniter is bad. It's an easy past all you have to do is test the coil itself to see if it's firing if it's not take off the connector test your ground you're hot and you're signal. In order to test your signal you should be able to place the test light in the connector and when you crank the engine it should blink on and off. The same for the igniter test it the same way. If you should find that the igniter has ground has fire and has signal replace the igniter. If you should find that it does not then go to your crank position sensor it is what tells your car what position the crank is in and when to fire. Good luck
