Clean and tighten all the battery connections. Also tighten and clean the negative battery connections on the frame and motor. Check connections on starter too. Are you sure the battery is good and fully charged?

that's my suggestion also . Really sounds like a bad or discharged Batt

I just went through the same thing on my kids Volkswagen. I replaced the starter, charged the battery, and all I got was a click. I had the battery tested and it passed. Finally got a new battery and car started every time like a champ.
