Dead pedal?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car (92 Toyota Camry 2.2 M/T)  runs just
fine, for about two mins, in the morning.  If
its warm outside it goes straight to the
problem. The problem being when it warms
up, even a little, starts to sputter and lose
power and acceleration tremendously. To
the point it sends the car bucking franticly
even in first gear.... Worse in second, until
about three grand on the tach. Now getting
to that even that "high"  of rpms isn't
possible unless you hit the "sweet spot" in
the throttle, if you can keep it there with all
the bucking it will level out and climb
gradually till the three grand mark then its
like nothing was wrong ... Until you shift
again. Its not possible to keep the car at a
steady rpm in fifth gear it will gradually
decrease in rpm and speed with minor
surging of the engine. And if you try to give
anymore throttle it bogs completely. Go
back to the sweet spot and almost all good
again, other than the sputtering. This has
baffled my father and myself. We've
changed the ignitor, coil and ableI really
think it may be the egr vale,  bad negative
battery cable, ups or

You mention a possible EGR problem. I would agree with TrannyMan. After you check the suggested fuel delivery issue....consider a check of the EGR Valve and Modulator. The Modulator has a filter under its Cap. That filer could plug up. The EGR valve itself could also be sticking in a partially open position and not closing all the way.
