battery light on after I changed battery and car starts

Asked by Guru9HWMMP Nov 02, 2021 at 02:17 PM about the 2006 Toyota Avalon XLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The battery light came on and car would not start. I changed the battery and
the car started, but the battery light is still on. Does this indicate the alternator
is broken?

The car's fifteen years old, so it could be anything. Go to a car parts store and have the alternator checked. If it's OK and the belt is tight, have a mechanic check the system.
