It's not the maximum mileage on the car that is decisive in this case, it's done 300,000km and is 15 years old, so based on that it's not worth the asking price of 2,500. They're very reliable cars but given the mileage you should expect to do plenty of maintenance on the mechanical side (brakes for example) and unless you know the entire service history and it has just had a cam belt replacement it is due one at 300k...

if this is like only Freeway miles, 300,000 may be okay, as Lars was saying the mechanical side of things (the tie rods may be loosey-goosey) if it is CITY miles, things like the steering wheel bearing, and accelerator linkage may be amiss- CARFAX report should tell all- Upholstry and smell of exhaust should be all you need to assess the condiiton. Whether or not it was owned by a lady or gent makes a difference too-
