'98 4 runner won't start

Asked by Bigmamatoy Feb 17, 2016 at 11:17 PM about the 1998 Toyota 4Runner 4 Dr SR5 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took the computer out of the truck to test
on another truck and when I put it back in
the truck had no power to the dashboard or
ignition. The truck was totally fine before I
took the computer out.  We're thinking it has
something to do with the alarm system.  
Help please!

you may have shorted something out when you installed it in the other truck - swapping these out from vehicle to vehicle is not a good idea - PCM are usually programmed to the vehicle it is installed in. I'd have a professional take a look
