Traction control coming on in normal driving

965

Asked by James Jan 14, 2013 at 05:22 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Right rear wheel lightly but definite. 50 to 60 mph. Tapping the brakes stops it for a few minutes. 180,000 Auto 4x4 driving in 2H.
Any advice other than see the dealer?

Go to your local mechanic and have them run a diognostics on it. Most places will do it for free. It could be one of two things. One...the traction control switch (@$20) or Two...the control module (@$450). Remember get it diogonosted first and don't ever let the mechanic hammer you with prices to agree. Research the prices first if you finda better deal on the part buy it and negociate the labor costs. Talk to more than two shops for the best prices.
