Overdrive taking a long time to kick in and same time again when engine hot

Overdrive slow to engage, overdrive off lamp flashing, but when working it's fine,
slow to engage again even when engine is hot and engine had been stopped even
for few seconds.

Hi, thank you, yes first thing I checked was fluid level and it was fine, changing oil today in gearbox, had it on a scanner in an auto garage but mc wouldn't read it for some reason, also checked grounds from engine and body, both read fine !!
