when you park on a hill, if there is a curb, turn the front wheels, front of wheel toward curb, if headed down hill, where they will engage the curb. if headed up hill, let the rear of the front tire, touch the curb. Set the parking brake before you shift into park. That way, the transmission won't be holding the vehicle. you might try using another vehicle on downhill side of your vehicle, push, a little, to take load off transmission. Sometimes, you can get at transmission shift linkages on transmission, take linkage loose and see if you can shift by hand. There are safety issues trying that, safety is your responsibility. Don't take any chances. If you get the vehicle out of gear, it may run over you? If you get the vehicle in gear, it may run over you. don't take chances.

$6 fix. It's your plastic bushings on the transmission linkage, they're broken. Very common. Right under drivers seat is where it's located. Can use zip ties to get you by.

Let me rephrase that, don't want you looking right under driver seat ha. It's actually under the car, directly below drivers seat.
