Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just got my transmission rebuilt in october.
I finally get the car back from aamco after
paying 2700 around november 20th. As i
drive the car home it shuts off, aamco said
that the battery was dead and it needs a new
one. I go buy a battery and aamco saids it
needs a side post which that car isnt
manufacturered with. Come to find out they
wired it wrong so i take it back and they tell
me as i bring the car up that it needs
positive cables because the ones i had were
corroded. I didnt buy them because i didnt
understand how they rebuilt the
transmission knowing that the wires were
corroded. So they take it fix it again doesnt
ride well and just the other day it just
stopped working.  Aamco said that they
knew that the harness was no good but tried
to work with it. Now this is something
different that wasnt mentioned after the
positive cables was mentioned.  So now my
car is sitting in my driveway not shifting
gears. It cuts on but has very little power.
Aamco is saying they are not comimg to get
it unless i provide my own harness and
positive cables..shouldnt that be included?
When i call aamco what do i say

First, the first thing they would do is disconnect the battery before working on the trany, so that is how they know about the cables. What they are saying about the wiring harness probably is true, but there communication skills sound like they need some work, they should have called you once they realized the wiring harness was bad. Instead they tried to work with it. One thing is I don't know why they want you to get a new wiring harness. Why do they not pick one up? These cables and wiring harness are extra unforeseen cost, but never the less need to be done. I would explain your concerns to a manager and it may help in the cost.
