Hi, I had the same problem. Had to reprogram my key again and use a locksmith for the keyless entry. check this site, helped me a lot. https://lost-car-keys-replacement.com/chevy/hhr/
Both new ignition, new keyless entry and door cylinder has been replaced per instructions. The locksmith programmed the key and keyless entry device. The keyless entry device now works but does not allow the car to start.
2006 HHR trying to install not remote keyless entry begin the install per instructions not car wont start and didn't cmplete the install of the remote.

When I back up the car and when I turn on a curve, either way. Sounds like metal to metal. I love my Chevy HHR. That so far is the only thing that I saw wrong with it.
