I took it in to the chevy dealership and they stated it might be the belts or alternator, so i bought the parts and changed them out but I'm still having the issue where the car is not getting enough power from the battery to the alternator, A mechanic i hired states that it can also be the computer that's not send a signal to the alternator. I dont know what to do

Does it go dead sitting or driving?

Check fuses and fuse link, there is an alternator sense fuse also a fuse link somewhere close to the battery it will be marked "fuseable link" see if it's burned or if you pull it apart. Also check the battery wire going to the alternator.
