2001 Subaru Outback Cruise Control

Asked by GuruZR4VZ Nov 21, 2017 at 11:29 AM about the 2001 Subaru Outback Limited Wagon

Question type: General

When it's cold outside, the cruise control switch disengage (Cancel) rarely
works.  Sometimes it will if it is pulled back with a lot of force, more than
should be needed.  It worked fine when new in either hot or cold weather.
Brake pedal and cruise control switch on dash have no problem
disengaging.  It has now started having trouble setting the speed in similar
conditions.  Have to pull down multiple times.  Reset seems to work ok.
Makes no sense that the switch is affected by the cold since it's in the cabin
with the brake and dash switches.  Speculate unit under hood is affected by
cold.  Any ideas?
