temperature gauge stopped working then started then stopped again

Check the fluid level - if there is not enough coolant to read it can not function properly - if that's good than most likely the sending unit

The tempature gauge functions okay when we start the car but after some time the niddle goes right up and false down. Then it will not move again why.
